BHUTAN TOUR FOR 7 DAYS
NOTE:
During this period, Bhutan brought in a slew of changes in its tourism policy and announced a daily sustainable development fee (SDF) of 1,200 Ngultrum (Rs 1,200) that would be charged from every Indian during his/her stay in the country.
Day 01: Arrive in Bagdogra – Phuentsholig - 165 kms (drive of 3hrs-4hrs)
You will arrive in Bagdogra. One of the representative of our company will receive in Bagdogra Airport. After meeting and greeting we will make you to transfer Phuentsholing via Doars. You will come across ofmany beautiful tea bushes and the jungle of Gorumara. Check into hotel and rest for the day. In evening leisure walk around Phuentsholing and
Jaigaon local markets. Bargaining in Jaigaon local market can be done. ONS followed by dinner at hotel or outside restaurants.
Day 02: Phuentsholing to Thimphu - 175 kms (drive of 5hrs-6hrs)
After breakfast move for Thimphu the capital town of Bhutan through lustrous valleys and mountains. Its elevation is an elevation of 2,250 mts. Check into Hotel.
Day 03: Thimphu Local points .
After breakfast move for the local points; memorial chorten built in the memory of the third king His majesty king Jigme Dorji Wangchuk by his queen mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden Wangchuk,Tashicho Dzong the main secretariat building and the central monk body. Semthokha Dzong, the oldest fortress of the kingdom and now it is the houses of the school for the Buddhist studies. Overnight stay in Thimphu.
Day 04: Thimphu to Punakha - 75kms (3hrs-4hrs)
After breakfast drive to north to Thimphu Valley. Punakha is at an elevation of 1350 mts. It is of 4hrs travelling distance. On the way you will be stopped to explore the highest pass i.e. Dochula Pass (10,171 ft.). There are 108 chortens called Druk Wangyel Chorten with
colorful prayer flags surrounding the area. Move ahead for Punakha valley. Check into hotel. After lunch visit Punakha Dzong, the palace of great happiness. The war materials captured during the Tibetan Invasion can be found in the dzong. Chhimmi Lhakang, famous for its fertility. Wangdephodrang Dzong,was founded by zhabdrung in 1639. After visiting punakha we will move to Hotel. And overnight stay.
Day 05: Punakha to Paro- 129kms (5hrs-6hrs).
After breakfast drive to Paro. On the way visit Thimsing Lhakhang. Check into hotel. Rest for the day. ONS
Day 06: PARO SIGHTSEEING.
Early morning hike to Taktsang Monastery. It has an elevation of 10232 ft. The walk of approximately 2 hours uphill takes you almost a kilometer above the Paro valley floor (for those who cannot hike we will arrange a horse for transfer up to the viewing point). The view of Taktsang Monastery built on a sheer cliff face 900 meters above the
valley floor is a spectacular sight. The Monastery is also an important pilgrim site for the Buddhists. The great Guru Rimpoche is said to have flown here on the back of a tigress when he brought the teachings of the Buddhist Dharma to Bhutan in the 8th Century.
Refreshments and lunch will be arranged in the tent specifically pitched on the path to Taktsang Monastery. On the return drive to Paro, visit 7th Century Kyichu Lhakhang, one of the 108 temples constructed by the Tibetan king Songtsen Gampo. Afternoon is at leisure. Overnight stay at Paro.Overnight stay at Hotel.
Day 07: PHUENTSHOLING – IXB/NJP DROP.
Morning after breakfast drive to Bagdogra Airport to catch your flight for onward journey.
